Does this grill look familiar? The electric contact grill from Milantoast has been a fixture in bars and cafés throughout Italy since the 1960s. It is the original: the first contact grill ever developed and manufactured in Italy. A classic catering appliance, weighing 24 kilograms and really reliable, with ceramic-coated cast iron grill plates in a solid stainless steel housing. An advantage in the kitchen at home: the square basic shape of this model takes up slightly less space than a rectangular contact grill model - and yet you can easily provide the whole family or a small group of guests with grilled food at the same time. This is because there is always enough space on the grill plates.

We also offer this contact grill in two versions. We recommend the "ribbed/ribbed" version primarily for preparing panini, the classic Italian-style grilled sandwiches, and for cooking delicate grilled food (such as fish, prawns, white meat). Try grilling cheese, vegetables (such as green asparagus) or sweets (banana in the peel, pineapple) with this appliance. The "smooth/ribbed" version is yours if you like to eat bistecca, burgers and grilled eggplant (or zucchini) as well as panini, ham and cheese toast and the like. Tofu, eggs and small sausages (including vegetarian ones) can also be grilled on the lower, smooth grill plate.

Either way, with all contact grills, excess cooking fat collects in a drip tray during grilling. The included cleaning brush makes it easier to clean the grill plates afterwards.
