Lagubo stands for mountain pine gum candy - and the name truly says it all. The remarkable pastilles in pharmacopoeia quality are produced according to a Bad Reichenhall recipe from 1926. Their flavor is based on the best mountain pine oil from a small distillery in South Tyrol. Added to this are extracts of the medicinal herbs ribwort, thyme and primrose as well as peppermint oil, menthol and aniseed oil. Genuine gum arabic is responsible for the pleasantly chewy consistency and chlorophyllin for the greenish color. When sucked, the oils incorporated in the droplets are released again. It is no coincidence that Lagubo pastilles are popular with those who rely on the power and sound of their voice in their everyday lives - such as singers and speakers. They are still produced in a pharmacy in Bad Reichenhall today.
