Les Racines du Ciel produces this casually cut, figure-hugging knitted shirt from pure linen that is grown, spun and processed in Europe. This creates short distances within the production process. Linen is the ideal material for the warmer seasons, as the skin-friendly fiber is particularly breathable: it absorbs a lot of moisture and quickly wicks it away again, creating a pleasantly cooling effect on the skin. The airy knit has a fine transparency and the typical linen sheen. Rib-knitted sections on the sides of the body and at the base of the raglan sleeves as well as rib-knitted cuffs on the neck, sleeves and body create a varied knitted look.

On the western tip of the Breton peninsula lies the department of Finistère, whose name—dating back to Roman times—means “the end of the earth.” For the Bretons, however, it is “Penn ar Bed,” the beginning of the world—an interpretation that far better suits the Quimper-based brand “Les Racines du Ciel,” founded by Nathalie Goyette and Christian Tournafol. The brand’s origins lie in the fact that, since 2005, the two have been designing elegant, feminine, and timeless women’s fashion with the highest quality standards. Production takes place in artisanal workshops in Portugal.
