Fashion from Knowledge Cotton Apparel
The owl in the logo of the Danish label Knowledge Cotton Apparel stands for wisdom and knowledge: two building blocks that can be applied to the company's history and the brand's philosophy. Back in 1969, Jørgen Mørup and his father founded a small textile company in Herning, Denmark, which was already focusing on aspects of resource-conscious and responsible action at the time. At the end of the 1980s, the two of them began to produce their clothing from certified organic cotton, as green pioneers in Denmark, so to speak.
GOTS-certified organic cotton. Happy Sheep Wool and recycled PET bottles
In 2008, as a logical consequence and again as a team, this time with son Mads, the label Knowledge Cotton Apparel was founded, which now combines the traditional heritage with a contemporary, sustainable business strategy. Today, Knowledge Cotton Apparel stands for casual, sporty fashion made from GOTS-certified organic cotton or South American "Happy Sheep Wool". The label also processes recycled PET bottles, which - shredded and processed - are spun into thread and then turned into a robust, water-repellent fabric for jackets.
