One of its inventors lived in Vienna, was a purveyor to the imperial and royal court. Court purveyor and was called Joseph Knize. So you can definitely say "Knize Number Ten", even if everyone else anglicizes the name (to "Neis"). The ingenious designer and poster artist Ernst Deutsch-Dryden played a key role in the composition of the Knize. Knize was (and still is) the most renowned men's outfitter in Vienna. Knize Ten has been around since 1925, and in the collection "The Best of the Best" published by Econ in 1989, it was the only fragrance worthy of inclusion. And Hans Habe said that if the fate of the desert island threatened him, he would also take Knize with him, because in the end a man's aim when using a fragrance is not at all to shake the morale of a beautiful woman, but to strengthen his own. Knize Ten is a leather note - the first, by the way, and one of the very few ever.

Around 100 new fragrances are launched on the market every year. Old perfumers, who know what a feat of compositional violence it is to invent a fragrance that is somehow recognizably new and full of character, shake their heads at the excesses of the marketing people and predict that all these "exciting new perfumes" will have the life expectancy of a mayfly.
