Hoff planter with saucer
- Rich in minerals, particularly frost-resistant: Tuscan terracotta
- Elegant, linear silhouette: in the style of Scandinavian design
- Traditional craftsmanship: from a Tuscan pottery
General Information
Deep in color, even in shine
Made in a Tuscan pottery, this cachepot and its saucer impress with their depth of color and shine in exceptional quality. This is thanks to a special production step in which the fired terracotta is dipped in a particularly high-quality colored glaze and then fired a second time. The dipping process is carried out entirely by hand - the uniformity of the glaze testifies to the care and craftsmanship with which this step is carried out. The result is a planter that showcases your houseplant with clarity, depth and shine in a naturally elegant way.
Straightforward and functional
Even at first glance, the Hoff collection from Bergs Potter impresses with its uncluttered design and straightforward, clear silhouette. In these designs, designer Anne Hoff is guided by the modern formal language of Scandinavian design, which always keeps the functionality of a design in mind. The harmoniously coordinated colors of the planters and coasters allow them to be combined with one another, creating a constantly changing visual effect. And if you don't need the Hoff planters, they can be safely stacked and stowed away to save space.
Plant pots for generations. Bergs Potter in Copenhagen
When Victor Berg inherited his ceramics business in Copenhagen in 1942, it was particularly important to him to make the everyday lives of his fellow human beings a little more colorful in gray times. In the words of the Danish poet Hans Christian Andersen: "Life alone is not enough, said the butterfly. You must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower." So Berg always kept a bouquet of vases and pots in his store and also added cut flowers to the range. The people of Copenhagen liked this - over the years, several stores in the Danish capital were added, and eventually also plant pots and planters based on his own designs. When Victor Berg's children joined the family business in the 1980s, they began to have their own ideas - initially inspired by historical models that they found all over Europe - molded in terracotta. To this end, Bergs Potter still works with traditional potteries in Tuscany, more precisely in Lucca, and now also in Portugal; a tradition that is now being continued with great dedication by the third generation of Bergs. The preferred material is the famous southern Tuscan Galestro clay, which is rich in minerals and is considered to be particularly frost-resistant. Once fired, even the unglazed terracotta can show shades of red and pink, gray and white - an appealing natural patina that only this clay possesses. Another advantage for the health of your potted plants: the carbonate and potassium salts contained in the clay ensure good permeability, which can have a particularly positive effect on the development of the root system.
