A curtain—which is actually a windbreak—made of heavy, dense combed-yarn loden with a generous fabric weight of 850 grams per running meter. A key feature of Streichgarn is a spinning technique in which the yarn is not stretched too much during spinning; this keeps it full-bodied, voluminous, and slightly crinkled, which enhances its thermal insulation properties. Gebrüder Mehler, a cloth factory founded in 1644 in Tirschenreuth, weaves this combed yarn into an exceptionally dense loden and uses it to manufacture this curtain (as well as the matching draft-stopper roll). All stages of production still take place under one roof here: spinning, weaving, dyeing, and finishing.

Ten large, sturdy stainless steel eyelets (39.5 mm Ø on the inside)—the kind typically used on truck tarps—are punched into the curtain so that it can be hung on a rod. For standard doors (H 200 × W 100 cm), we recommend a rod length of 120 centimeters. For wider doors or double doors, you can hang two curtains side by side.
