A curtain - which is actually a draught excluder - made of heavy, dense carded yarn loden with a material weight of 850g/running meter. An essential feature of carded yarn is a spinning technique in which the yarn is not stretched too much during spinning, so that it remains full, voluminous and slightly curly, which increases its heat-insulating properties. The cloth factory Gebrüder Mehler in Tirschenreuth, founded in 1644, weaves an extraordinarily dense loden from the carded yarn and uses it to make this curtain (and the matching draught roll). All processing stages are still carried out here under one roof: spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing.

The curtain has 8 large, sturdy eyelets (39.5 mm Ø inside) made of stainless steel punched into it (eyelets that are otherwise used for truck tarpaulins) so that it can be pulled up over a rod. For standard doors (H 200 × W 100 cm), we recommend a rod length of 120 cm. For wider doors or double doors, you can hang two curtains next to each other.
