General Information
Deep Copper Pots and Pans As Used by Professionals: an Update on an Old Tradition.
We offer here a series of classic copper utensils - pots, pans and a roasting pan - which contrast sharply with the common practice nowadays of using stainless steel or aluminium with a thin coating of copper. On the contrary: the only thin layer of metal used in our pots is the lining - the cooking surface - which is of 0.2-mm-thick stainless steel on top of a good 2.3 mm of copper. The secret is a new, patented process that replaces traditional forging. It has been introduced by Falk, a leading Belgian firm, who are now our suppliers. In this process the two layers of metal are anchored under pressure to form what is known as a ‘bimetal’ - the final result being stainless steel ‘plated’ copper pots in a variety of shapes and depths.
Professionals are great fans of Falk products - not only for their superb heat-conducting properties (due to the copper) but for the combination of stainless steel inside cooking surface (completely neutral towards food) and matt-polished easy-care, easy-clean copper outside.
Chefs swear by them.
We mean of course the handles: these have been designed by ergonomic experts. They’re attached by stainless steel rivets in a special process to ensure the tightest of fits between handle and pot. Plus: all pot rims are equipped with easy-pour lips.
Cooker Type:
With the exception of induction heaters (for which we can supply an adapter), these utensils are suitable for all cookers.
Care:
Occasional application off a good copper cleaner (use rough side of kitchen plastic foam sponge pad) will preserve matt gloss of outside.
Modernization of Tradition. Copper Pots with Stainless Steel Plating.
We offer here a series of classic copper utensils: pots, pans and a roasting pan. However, their material properties contrast sharply with the common practice nowadays of using stainless steel or aluminium with a thin coating of copper. On the contrary: the only thin layer of metal used in these pots is a 0.2-mm-thick stainless steel layer on top of a good 2.3 mm copper base. Introduced by the Belgian family-owned business Falk, our proven suppliers, a new patented process replaces traditional forging here. In this process, the two layers of metal are joined under pressure to form what is known as a ‘bimetal’ – the final result being copper pots with a plating made of stainless steel and in a variety of shapes and depths. Professionals are great fans of Falk products: First of all for the cookware’s superb heat-conducting properties (due to the copper); secondly, for the combination of a cooking surface (made of stainless steel) inside the cooking devices that is entirely neutral towards food and a matt-polished easy-care, easy-clean copper outside.
Hint:
Our copper cookware is suitable for all types of stoves, with the exception of induction stoves.
