The fibres of wool contain lanolin, which picks up dust remarkably well. A family firm in Vermont (now in the fourth generation) have made good use of this scientific fact and constructed a mop that will remove every fleck of dust from tiles, laminated surfaces or parquet floors. The multi-coloured wool mop is clipped on to a curved steel wire. Every now and then the dust can be simply shaken out of the mop. Wash in cold water after use and hang out to dry.
