Understatement par excellence: these small folding cards measuring 6.5 × 9.5 centimetres are unprinted, while the envelopes are lined on the inside with Florentine paper. In this way, the greeting cards allow the written word to take precedence, but still give it the attention it deserves and a subtle ornamental solemnity. The set contains ten motifs.

Florence has been the center of Italian art and culture since the 15th century. The tradition of paper production also dates back to the Middle Ages. Initially printed with wooden stamps and simple ornamental designs, Florentine paper was first used as book binding material and later (and still today) as lamination paper for boxes or for lining cupboards and drawers.
