The robust Greek sage (Salvia fruticosa) is widespread on the Aegean islands and the infusion of its leaves has been one of the most popular herbal teas in Greece for centuries. When it grows in dry soil, this intensifies its fragrance even more. This is the case with the whole dried leaves, which Daphnis and Chloe obtains from a farm on Crete, where cultivation is still traditional and artisanal. Prepared as a tea, they taste excellent and the sage leaves are also versatile in the kitchen: they season poultry, game and roast pork or flavor a herb butter.

Daphnis and Chloenamed after the late antique novel of the same name, is a company founded in Athens in 2013 that is entirely dedicated to the flavorful herbs and spices of the Greek peninsula. Daphnis and Chloe always pays attention to the mostly essential ingredients, whose content and intensity in the respective plants are largely determined by the sun, the soil and the sea. Hand-picked and carefully packaged, these plants are delivered to the customer as they have grown naturally and have been gently dried after harvesting.
