Leather spectacle cases owe their protective stability to the strength of the selected leather and the fact that a wet piece of leather, which has been formed on a hot metal mandrel, hardens and then retains its shape. They are often even superior to cases made of harder materials, as the leather does not lose its flexibility to a certain extent and cannot break.

Formed out one single piece of leather and sewn. On the inside, the bottom is lined with soft goat leather to protect the glasses and the sidepieces are folded down and riveted for extra reinforcement.
Vegetable-tanned cowhide leather (thickness 3.4 mm).
