Robinia wood, especially in an untreated condition with its dark brown bark, is very durable but it is rarely used for weaving. This hand woven garden basket combines robinia and willow. The basket handles and bottoms are woven from the softer, smooth wood of the willow, recognisable by the reddish coloration of the bark. Only unstripped, flexible solid wood sticks are used. If a cut end peeks out in the inside of the basket that's a sign of handwork and not a defect. The baskets can be used for all kinds of purposes and will last for years. Please bear in mind: weathering will change the colour of the woods in time.
