Especially in France and the French part of Belgium, this old form of parasol stand is still widespread. However, anyone looking for the green-painted classic with a cast-iron base will often only find it at regional flea and antique markets. In fact, there is still an iron foundry in Provençe that manufactures the umbrella stand exactly as it has always been: small, compact and yet convincingly stable. In this way, the simple and simply designed model meets all the requirements for placing it even on smaller city balconies or the spatially limited foliage terrace. Operation is uncomplicated, as the umbrella pole is simply guided through the width-adjustable edging. One thing you should definitely keep in mind: If the pole of your parasol ends in a narrow tip, you can fix it in one of the five star-shaped holding holes in the base of the parasol stand. In the case of poles with a blunt end, we strongly advise using a suitable, small wooden wedge that is pushed into the surround as an additional safeguard (see illustration).
