Fine-Striped Linen Pillowcase

Fine-Striped Linen Pillowcase
- Soft and supple: pre-washed linen
- A fresh pop of color: woven blue stripes
- Matches the large linen cloth from Lapuan Kankurit
General Information
Lapuan Kankurit manufactures this pillowcase in a special size of 40 × 60 centimeters exclusively for us. We felt this size was perfect for use on balconies and patios, where the large linen cloth from the Finnish weaving mill is also popular—because the pillowcase pairs perfectly with it.
Casually elegant. Washed linen
You may have come across the soft, washed linen used for these simple yet elegant pillowcases before. The Finnish linen weaver Lapuan Kankurit also uses it to make the large, versatile linen towels that we’ve carried in our lineup for years. A sturdy, undyed linen is used for the background of the fabric, while linen yarn dyed a fresh blue is used for the narrow stripes. The linen fabric is sanforized (pre-shrunk through an initial wash), giving it a very soft, supple feel and ensuring it will shrink only minimally. The pillowcase features a hotel closure. Please note the unusual size of 40 × 60 centimeters.
Linen offers many benefits, especially in the summer. It absorbs a lot of moisture without feeling damp and can release it quickly. Linen fibers are antistatic, and their smooth surface repels pollen, dust, and dirt—making the fabric very easy to care for overall. Since linen naturally wrinkles and has a lively texture that is characteristic of the material, ironing is not necessary. Lapuan Kankurit uses only the finest linen yarns made from European long-staple flax (bearing the Masters of Linen® seal). You can recognize the high quality by the fabric’s subtle “luster” and the characteristic shimmer typical of linen.
Experience-Based Insights. Lapuan Kankurit
In Lapua, western Finland, the Jacquard weaving mill Lapuan Kankurit—a fourth-generation family business—applies its expertise to create woven fabrics that meet the highest standards of functionality, durability, and feel. Lapuan Kankurit achieves this by using exclusively natural raw materials and fabrics for its textiles. The manufacturing process combines traditional and newly developed methods, all of which are based on expertise and meticulous execution of every step, from spinning to weaving and finishing. Lapuan Kankurit produces primarily at its own weaving mill in Lapua. A small portion is manufactured in Lithuania and Finland.
