The classic hurricane lamp, made in Germany for more than ninety years. It served for building site security until ousted by flashing battery lamps. There are cheaper copies from the Far East but a comparison is definitely a waste of time.

All lamps should be run in strict accordance with the guidelines included with each lamp. Please use only highest-quality lamp oil (i.e. liquid paraffin) to run paraffin lights. The Feuerhand storm lantern has been built in Germany for over 100 years. It owes its continuing success to a technical detail: the ingenious airflow. The lantern supplies the oxygen for combustion from the side and from above - hidden in the frame. Openings in the screen plate and in the inner chimney provide an additional stream of fresh air that is protected against gusts of wind. The Feuerhand burns the kerosene with a bright flame and without soot or odor.
