Fertilizing old, established garden plants (such as fruit trees, hedges, shrubs or potted plants) becomes increasingly difficult over the years, as the soil becomes more and more root-bound, solidifies and can eventually become almost impenetrable. On the other hand, these usually very voluminous plants require a regular and sufficient supply of nutrients: in spring or fall. At the end of the season, it is important to bring a reserve into the soil that is available to the plants in the spring for new growth. And to prevent the fertilizer from being carried away unused, it is advisable to incorporate it deep into the soil - directly into the root area of the plants.

This fertilizer lance, the prototype of which was developed by a gardener in France, makes this possible. He originally designed the device for his own use only, in order to be able to fertilize the older plants in his garden - directly at the roots, so that the entire amount of fertilizer is available to the plant and neither the weeds close to the ground are unnecessarily strengthened nor the environment is polluted by fertilizer that is spread on the surface but does not penetrate.

- Used in mulched areas, the lance saves having to remove the mulch cover - It facilitates the nutrient supply of large, perennial potted plants with an impenetrable root ball - Fruit trees planted in a meadow can be fertilized in a very targeted manner if a few holes are made in the soil in the area of the crown eaves (where the fine suction roots are located).

Insert the lance into the bed or lawn at the intended location, pull up the inner tube and pour the fertilizer (pre-portioned) through the opening provided. Then lower the inner tube again and press the fertilizer into the soil.
