These felt posters create a calmer atmosphere and mood in the room for a very "tangible" reason. The wool felt has a higher plasticity than a printed picture - and as a decorative wall object, it can dampen the sound in the room a little. The fact that the motifs, felted by hand from pure New Zealand wool, also fulfill a purely aesthetic function is another "beautiful" effect.
According to the philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer, by contemplating art, man can free himself from the will and become a pure "subject of knowledge". To put it less "pessimistically": by looking closely at the decorative objects with which we adorn our living spaces, we can let our thoughts wander and our imagination run wild, immerse ourselves in contemplation and find inner peace.
Aveva. By Eva from nature
The felt posters are created by Aveva Design, a Swedish design company founded in 2011. Company founder Eva Gassne Jeckelmann is unmistakably inspired by the Swedish landscape and culture in her designs - now supported by a team of internal and external designers. Her travels have taken the Swede to Kathmandu, among other places, where she discovered the traditional Nepalese felt craft for the realization of her designs. With a view to the responsible use of resources, Aveva uses natural materials for her decorative home accessories. The wool comes from New Zealand, where mulesing is prohibited by law, and is traditionally felted by hand in Nepal. The wood comes from regional forests and the leather is vegetable-tanned in a Swedish tannery.
Note:
Certain manufacturing steps are carried out by hand. Slight dimensional and color deviations may therefore occur.
