General Information
Colorful upcycling against draughts
A little surprise package arrives at your door when you order this draught excluder, as it is made from leftover yarns from the wool weaving mill. You know the principle from our brightly colored pit cloths. Like these, Tweedmill draught excluders vary from batch to batch and show their stripes in different colors. However, the mottled gray background always remains the same.
The cover and filling are made of pure New Zealand wool. The cover is firmly sewn so that the filling cannot be removed. As pure new wool is hard-wearing and has a kind of self-cleaning effect thanks to the scaly structure of its fiber surface, it is not very susceptible to dirt and is easy to care for. Regular beating is usually sufficient. If necessary, however, you can clean the draught roller by hand washing.
Tweedmill. Made in Britain. Woven to last
The Tweedmill weaving mill in Wales, in the county of Flintshire, has been producing home textiles, outdoor blankets and accessories from wool since 1971. The range extends from soft tweed made from fine lambswool to traditional tartans and blankets made from New Zealand wool, as well as picnic blankets and draught excluders made from recycled wool. The designs are inspired by the colors of Welsh nature, the forests and the coast, but also surprise with bold tones and unusual color combinations. They mainly come from the hands of in-house designers, but the family business also encourages young creative minds: the winning designs of the annual Drapers Memorial Textile Prize are realized by the family business in a separate collection.
