Like all good products, this one was born out of her own need: blocked drains were not only a nuisance for the inventor of the drain rod, but also a worry, as she didn't always like chasing the (sometimes less) effective but chemical cleaners through the pipes. She tested many things until she came up with the idea of using a wooden stick as a cleaning aid in her carpenter's workshop. Together they developed the drain rod made of natural beech wood, simply sharpened and turned with a rough, ribbed surface to which residue can easily cling - without any chemicals.

It is as simple as it is effective for cleaning the drain: Simply push the rod tip-first into the drain as far as it will go, turn it several times until you feel slight resistance and carefully pull it out so that hair and residue stuck to it does not fall off. After use, the rod can be disposed of whole in the household waste or compost, you do not have to clean it and therefore do not come into contact with the residue. However, it is also possible to break off or pinch off the dirty end and sharpen the stick again for a new use.
