By using natural resources with care, MAGAZIN aims to help reduce the amount of waste that burdens our planet.

ECOSMOL is made from Finnish birch plywood and focuses on finding ways out of the throwaway culture, including durability and waste-reduced production. The material is produced within the framework of resource-conscious, socially responsible and economically viable forestry. The manufacturing process of the products starts at the factory in Hirvensalmi, where the wood material is processed into veneer, which is used for plywood production. The veneers are made of 100 percent birch wood from Hirvensalmi and are then sent to the factory in Lahti, where they are glued and pressed into shape. The products are coated and lacquered in the same factory where the moldings are made. The distance between Lahti and Hirvensalmi is approximately 120 km, which means that transportation distances are relatively short. This keeps the CO₂ footprint small.
