The idea for these wine soaps was born at a Heidelberg wine festival - an obvious choice when the company headquarters are located in a wine region. The soaps are made from purely vegetable oils (olive and coconut oil are used as a base) and refined with real Riesling or Pinot Noir, which comes from the organizing winery. Riesling grapes are said to have an antioxidant effect, which is said to have a positive effect on the shine of the skin. In addition to the Pinot Noir content, the red wine soap also contains nourishing grapenextract.

At a prosperous time for the old trading city Heidelberg, in 1840, Philipp Klar opened a soap works and store in the city centre at a “Hauptstrasse” address. This address became the cornerstone of a soap tradition which is now in the fifth generation. “At Klar’s”, as the employees fondly refer to the company these days, the best raw materials are processed, with the proven procedures and recipes which have been handed down. The result is soap of indisputable quality, without dyes or preservatives.
