This soap and its packaging will get you in the mood for Easter: The cardboard Easter egg, made by traditional company Nestler and printed with a colorful Easter motif, houses a fine hand and body soap from Heidelberger Manufaktur Klar. Pressed into shape using a soap mold from the 1920s, this soap gently cleanses and nourishes using pure vegetable oils such as olive and coconut oil - and is completely palm oil-free.

Klar combines some surprising borrowings from the kitchen and garden for the fragrances of their skincare soaps. The soaps are ideal for gently cleansing the hands. Pure vegetable oils, spices, herbs and blossom extracts with an addition of vitamin E keep the hands supple and smooth. In contrast to the usual procedure, Klar’s skincare soaps are rolled seven times and then stored for a while; this makes them particularly dense, prevents cracks and breaks, and it ensures that each soap carries its fragrance until the last wash cycle. These Klar soaps are scented by adding perfume or essential oils.

At a prosperous time for the old trading city Heidelberg, in 1840, Philipp Klar opened a soap works and store in the city centre at a “Hauptstrasse” address. This address became the cornerstone of a soap tradition which is now in the fifth generation. “At Klar’s”, as the employees fondly refer to the company these days, the best raw materials are processed, with the proven procedures and recipes which have been handed down.
