Garden balls like these were originally made of reflective colored glass and were primarily intended as bird deterrents. Our beautiful, hand-potted and color-glazed ceramic garden balls are much more rustic, as they are less delicate and fragile. The decorative character is clearly in the foreground here, because with their brightly colored glaze, the ceramic balls (not only) add splashes of warm colors to your flower beds and containers in the cold season, when nature is at rest. We do not supply matching stakes. However, we think that hazel sticks or other self-cut branches of a suitable diameter are particularly suitable for natural gardens.

The ceramic balls are made for us by the Lehmann pottery in Neukirch, founded in 1834 in the small town in the Upper Lusatian highlands. To this day, the Lehmann family continues a centuries-old regional tradition of great cultural and historical significance, thanks to the rich clay deposits in this area: the production of pottery in the Bunzlau style. The grandfather of today's pottery owners learned his trade at the technical college in Bunzlau. It all began with the so-called "Braungeschirr": this included cooking utensils, storage and feeding vessels. Later, the pottery's repertoire was expanded to include tableware and finally decorative items such as our garden baubles. Incidentally, the family business continues to provide training in the craft of ceramics.

This product is an example of genuine handicraft; therefore, minor deviations in size and colour may occur.
